I wish it was summer. This is beautiful. The only thing that bothers me about this piece is the sunlight... your whites are so white-out-white (the clouds just above the horizon). Trying to capture the true colors are a real pain in the but and getting the right settings on your camera can take forever. That would be the only thing I would encourage you to work with.. is finding the right setting to really bring that last bit to life. Everything else about this piece I adore. The reflection on the ocean. the sand.. it's just so perfect. I really wish I was there! Great job on this piece.
Thank you very much my dear. I am glad you enjoy the view
It has nothing to do with my setting on the camera. For the majority of my shots, I tend to stick with the same settings. F17,IS0 100, Picture Style set to Landscape, while using a circular polarizer, setting in AV mode and finally post processed in Lightroom 3 and at times HDRed with Photomatix. I sat on this one for months for the very reason you mentioned about the clouds in the background. I switched my focus point on one of the clouds when, now reflecting back on it, should have focus and locked it on a the water and recomposed my shot Such is life lol.
Ahh. I see. It's still a beautiful shot none the less. I'm sure you learned a lesson from that though! Typically I try to take a bunch of shots of the same subject with different focal points just for that reason. It was something I had to learn to do after coming home and discovering everything I had was not really what I wanted >.< Keep up the amazing work my dear!
