Dead Of Night

This is truly an awesome piece. The fog softens the effect of the image overall, but it also heightens the mystery and accents the dark plants that emerge from the gloom. The title adds an entirely new layer to it as well; "Dead Of Night" gives the impression that the viewer is not looking at plants on a foggy morning, but that the dead have risen and are approaching the viewer through a heavy mist at the darkest hour of night. The only thing I might change about this- and honestly, I don't think it affects the piece enough to change it- would be to soften the edges of the lower layer of plants to make them more indistinct. Of all the things I love about this picture, though, I love the grainy quality of it the best; one never seems to find a clear image of things that are out of myth.
